DSG teams up with Chainlink to bring live sports data to smart contracts
We are excited to announce that Data Sports Group (DSG) will incorporate Chainlink’s oracle functionality into DSG’s API services. DSG collects, normalizes and syndicates sports data from more than 5,000+ sporting events through DataFeeds, Widgets and Hosted Solutions.
Working with Chainlink ensures that DSG can now deliver quality sports data to smart contracts on-chain. We will feed our sports data through Chainlink’s oracle network, which will power smart contracts that require a consistent off-chain data source.
Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that enables smart contracts to securely access off-chain data feeds, web APIs, and traditional bank payments. Chainlink is consistently selected as one of the top blockchain technologies by leading independent research firms such as Gartner. It is well known for providing highly secure and reliable oracles to both large enterprises and leading smart contract development teams.
Sowbhagya Shetty, CEO of DSG, says “We chose to partner with Chainlink because of their proven record of execution in the blockchain ecosystem. Working together, we can securely deliver consistent and quality off-chain sports data to power blockchain-based smart contracts. Our full sports catalogue, which now numbers 23 sports, will be made available to smart contracts. We are the first sports data provider to offer our content for the Blockchain.”
Daniel Kochis, Chainlink’s Global Head of Business Development says, “We look forward to enabling smart contracts to connect with quality sports data made possible through DSG.”
